Chantry Flat Hike | 4/22
We are going to Chantry Flat in Big Santa Anita Canyon. This is one of the most popular hiking destinations in Southern California. You will remember this hike for many reasons, but the last ½ mile is what people comment about most. To enter the hike, we descend a paved road from the parking lot at Chantry Flats down to Roberts Camp. At the end of the hike, you have to return back up this very same road. The hike is comprised of pleasant groves and streams and offers a great escape from Los Angeles.
We will start hiking promptly at 7:00 A.M. from the Chantry Flat parking area. The parking lot is located at the very north end of Santa Anita Avenue and fills up quickly, hence the early start time!
If you are going to drive to the trailhead, plan to be at the Santa Anita Avenue entrance when the gate opens at 6:00 A.M.  Google: Chantry Flats Parking Lot and Trail Head, 2201-2299 Forest Route 2N40,, La Canada Flintridge, CA 91011 for direction from your location At the top of the road there is a private parking lot that will charge you $10, but that fills up quickly.
A Forest Adventure Pass is required to park at Chantry Flat. Passes can be purchased at any sporting goods store (Big 5), they are $5.
For those of you would like to carpool, there are 9 spaces available. We will be leaving @ 6:00am sharp from 4700 Angeles Vista Blvd. Los Angeles Ca 90043. Please email betterbrothersla@gmail.com if you want a seat. Also email if you want to drive and follow us.
